class reunion feedback

The latest talk of the class blog is about where/when our class reunion should be held. I was thinking if we should have a criteria to determine the venue and details.
Well, I suggest we draw up a checklist to decide what is best for everyone. Here are some of the things we need to include in our checklist:
1) Distance and convenience
No one wants to travel 45mins to the location and waste another 30mins finding their way into some ‘ulu’ gathering place right?
2) “Reunion value”
Imagine going to a gathering and wanting to spend some time catching up on friends… Nice, right? Ok… now, imagine the gathering is at Wild Wild Wet and when you arrive… everyone is all over the place, trying out the rides and you’re alone. Wow. What a ‘gathering’.
3) Cost
Tickets…rent…and what’s a party without food. Of course everyone can fork out money, but we’re talking about a group of kids that are NOT in when the same school and don’t see each other so often and a sum of money. What happens when 5 kids pay their amount and can’t make it last minute? What happens when I buy a ticket on behalf of someone and he/she doesn’t turn up?
4)Parents
Simply said, what if your parents don’t approve?
5)Timing
“Let’s make it the 16/01/09!!!” Right… January is the first month of the year, mind you… we just saw each other about a month before. “Ok… er… xx/xx/xx!!!” what if it’s the Sunday before a secondary school exam? “Grrr… xx/xx/xx can?!?!?!?” Half the class isn’t free.
These are the basic things we have to consider. And —don’t call me a wet blankie—if we really can’t help it… at least let your mums join in… who knows? Your mum and mine could have something in common to talk about!
